Kass naidoo nationality

Kass Naidoo is celebrated for having become South Africa's first female cricket commentator South Africa in 2005, after making her cricket broadcasting debut on the SABC's broadcast of the Cricket World Cup in 2003. 

During her 20-year cricket broadcasting career, Kass has presented and commentated on a host of T20 Internationals, One Day Internationals and Test Matches. She hosted four World Cups for SABC before being signed by the ICC for the past four World Cups, mostly recently the 2024 ICC Cricket World Cup in the USA and the Caribbean. 

Kass' gender empowering broadcasting breakthrough paved the way for future women sport's broadcasters, and she has worked over the years to mentor the next generation of broadcast talent. Since 2006, Kass has pioneered the positive coverage of women's sport in South Africa, to raise the profile of women's sport and encourage increased corporate support of female athletes through the innovative online initiative called gsport ('Girls Sport'). 

Recognising the privileges she earned as a woman in a man's world, Kass decided to empower more women to achieve similar success, leading to her instrumental contribution in shaping women's sport in South Africa.  She conceptualised the gsport Awards platform, Africa's only national women's sport awards, which celebrates its 19th consecutive edition in September this year, marking the 10th anniversary of the gsport Awards being recognised by the Department of Sport, Arts and Culture as South Africa's national Women-in­Sport Awards. 

Kass' courageous approach to raising the profile of women's sport can be traced back to her four years as Commercial Director at Cricket South Africa in the mid­to late 2000's, where she successfully shaped the brands of CSA and the Proteas through innovative product and business development. 

Kass is a Brand South Africa Play Your Part ambassador who uses every opportunity to fly the South African flag and champion transformation in sport. She is regarded as one of the leading MCs in South Africa and is often called on to facilitate high-level events from business to sport.  Kass is married to Ryk Meiring and they are proud parents of Daniel, Ella and Luke
